This is an advanced genetic test called pharmacogenetics. The results of this screening will directly influence your further use of medicines.
We test your capacity to metabolize a huge number of different medicines. Results will be the following:
Normal metabolizer: this means that you will need the ususal dosage of the drug and your reaction to it is to be as usually expected.
Poor metabolizer: you will not eliminate the drug from your body as quick as the average, you may have much stronger effects and side effects. You should have lower dosages of maybe you should not use this medicine.
Rapid metabolizer: the drug will disappear from your circulation much faster than expected. You need higher dosages or should use other drugs for the specific purpose.
A few examples for medicines, which are not well tolerated by a considerable number of people:
Statins
Omeprazol and similar
Ibuprofen, etc.
